It’s the fifth week working in ASECL. Nothing happened in this week. I’m still did my job in full swing. But the notification of next experience sharing convention just showed up this week. This is a little bit quick. I mean it’s the first week of August and what do they expect us to share something true and meaningful. Rules are rules, I still have to come up with something interesting, because all the supervisors will take part in this convention. I made two short logo videos for ASE group and I’m prepare to play them out in the convention. I hope they’ll like it and allow me to put my video in the beginning of every tutorial video I made in this summer. I’ve got to say that the last video is the hardest one I’ve ever made. It’s so complicated and tricky. Its’ difficulties are beyond description. You have to do it by yourself then you can understand what I’m talking about. Time flies like an arrow, it’s August now. Few weeks later, I’ll be in school. Will I miss this internship journey? Probably yes! However, most important of all is what it can bring to my future life which is something I really desire in my life.

Fourth week in ASECL 7/25~7/30

Experience sharing convention with other interns

二、本週實習心得:(至少200字)

It’s the fourth week working in ASECL. All process and works are working much smoother than last three weeks. So far, I’ve completed two tasks out of four. Most exciting of all, the last task is to adjust the previous interns’ project. So, I don’t have to start it like an empty sheet! I can assume that all the works will be done before August 26 – the last day in ASECL. But, my boss just asked me if I can do the dubbing job, then an evil thought popped up saying “Try not to finish your job that fast or you’ll have a lot more jobs needed to be done”

The experience sharing convention was held on Friday, all the interns were prepared well. They acted very different between the self-introduction on the first day. They talked confidently and fluently. But, the time management was really bad. The HR staff did not bring a timer, so lots of interns talked over 5 minutes which should be limited in five minutes. And I was the last three in the row, all the process were hurry and disrespectful, because one of the HR staff was pushing me. I was a little depressed by her behavior. Moreover, it’s called experience sharing convention, but most of us are doing different jobs in different fields, so how can we understand what they want to share? That’s a little drawback of this convention.

Third week in ASECL 7/18~7/23

二、本週實習心得:(至少200字)

It’s the third week working in ASECL. Finally, I finished my first assignment. I’d like to call this week “Harvest Week”. Because not only did my first work finished, but my next work progress is in full swing. Probably 50% progress has been made. Next week Tuesday is expected to finish my second work. I’ve never felt this sense of satisfaction and achievement before. It’s like you really did something that’s helpful to the company and all the rookies. Next week Friday is experience sharing conference, and probably twenty five interns will be there sharing what they’ve learned in this month. There was a short self-introduction in the first day, and most of them are too shy to express themselves. And I hope next week, they can show something more or interesting to us. The outline of everyone’s presentation are the working progress, what have you learned, and what are your suggestion to all the people. I think they should prepare themselves well in every presentation, because this is the chance you can share and talk by yourself and to let people get to know you more. That’s what’ve been telling myself “Do not afraid of speaking in front of people, you should act like a shining star”.

Second week in ASECL 7/11~7/16

二、本週實習心得:(至少200字)

It’s the second week working in ASECL. And I feel like I’m still trying to get on track. Because I still haven’t successfully rendered out a single video. Some of my early plans didn’t work out such as making an outline first and then put the pictures or videos into the track. That’s not going to work if the video section is big. Since it’s big and contained a lot of materials, there are so many things needed to be adjust. It’s not just putting all the videos and pictures into the track and called it a work or tutorial video. A nice tutorial video must make the audience comfortably watch it. The time management, the transition in every material (every material can add two transitions for opening and ending, and there are about 1~2 hundreds materials that needed to be adjust manually). I work at least 8 hours a day not including overtime. Then you can imagine how hard and exhausted when you carried out this job. All the difficulties are the best learning opportunity. Once I finished one video and make my boss satisfied, I’ll think that what I’ve done is worthwhile and feel less frustrated. You can do it.

二、本週實習心得:(至少200字)

It’s the first week on board. I feel exited and prudent. It’s quite fresh and astonished that I worked in one of the biggest companies in the world. Lots of contracts I signed this week was confidentiality agreement, and we cannot use cell phone or any device that can picture or record things during work. I believe they have their reasons. They have to use the ID card to go every building just like our school, that’s a little overreacting, but I respect and accept what has to be done. Even if you are going to have lunch, you have to use the ID card to pass the first floor and use the ID card to record what you want to eat before you took the dishes.

Four hours new hired employers training and education programs are both fun and exhausted. Like the firefighting education, the teacher talked what he’s been through when he was in China, and his stories just made my day. Programs are a little bit hard, which are talking about how to calculate your salary, if you have a day off how much money will you lose etc. Based on what your position is will have different formula to calculate. After that, we had a class of knowing what exactly our company is doing, and do`s and don'ts like you need to wear bunny suit before entering to the factory, what is spec and sop, what is wp and checklist, what is conductor and IC etc. But the test was not that hard, but if you are under 80, you are going to have a class and test again.

After all day's training and class, they finally took us to where we are going to work in the next two months. I work on fourth floor at building A. And, I met my supervisor 月華姐 who is one of my interviewers. My job is to design and edit a video for showing the staffs in specific area that they need to pay attention and execute all the steps precisely. It’s tricky but playful The worst part of this job is that the PowerDirector 12 will constantly shutdown for no reason! So, I’ve forced myself to save the project every minute, although the PowerDirector 12 have auto saving.

Planning for future

2015年5月17日 星期日

Every day is a new beginning. Stay away from what might have been and look at what can be. What makes the life meaningful is the goal we set.

Few weeks ago,I filled the resume about the internship. The job I applied for is an executive assistant for Microsoft. I've been planning this job since I was a freshman. However, the working place is in Taipei which means I have to go back and forth for a whole year! Although it sounds like a hard plan,I still gave it a try.

Few weeks later,Microsoft sent me a letter. I didn't make it. Maybe they also took my location into consideration, and thought that it would be a trouble for me. I was a little disappointed ,but I would not give up. I will start to make a new plan to enrich myself. Next year, I think I will be more suitable for this job, and Microsoft will hire me as their executive assistant.

Inspirational story about priorities

2015年3月30日 星期一

One day, a professor of philosophy was teaching his lecture to his students. He carried some things with him and placed them on the table. When the course began, he took a big empty jar which clear as crystal and started to fill it with pretty massive stones. Then the professor questioned his students: „Is the jar full? “. They confirmed that it was.

Later the professor picked up a box filled with some small pebbles, poured them into the jar and shook it, so that pebbles filled the open areas between the stones. He questioned once again: „Is the jar full? “. They approved that it was.

This time the professor poured a pail of sand into the jar, and the sand filled up the jar without vacancy anymore.

„Now,“ said the professor, „I need you to see that this jar is as similar as your life – the stones are the most significant things, your main values – your family, health, morality.

The pebbles are other stuffs – your career, house, and car. The sand represents the small matter.

So if you pour the sand into the jar first, there would be no room left for pebbles and large stones. Therefore, put most of our consideration to the things that are the most imperative in life. Spend enough time with your family, take care of your health and don‘t forget to develop mentally.  Be sympathetic, authentic, thoughtful, and supportive. These are the things that really matter. They should be your priorities. The rest is just sand.
